Surprise!!!
Friday night, I surprised Josh with a 30th Birthday Party at our church's community center! I never thought I'd be able to pull it off, but I figured I'd at least try. I was so excited when he showed up Friday night...completely shocked! He couldn't get over it! It was so much fun!!

The way I got him up there was sort of last minute, but perfect! We were supposed to have a meeting up at church on Wednesday night with the Elders to talk about Life Groups, but Josh ended up having to cancel for a late appointment. My dad, who's an Elder, got one of the Elders to call our house that night and ask Josh if we could meet to pray and talk about Life Groups on Friday night at 6:15 (the time of the party)! Josh never doubted that for a minute!! I had a really hard time keeping a straight face, so I used tactics like pulling out the coupons to cut while he was talking to me about it.
Thursday night, Amber and I met up at the community center (aka La Fiesta for dinner) to decorate. I'm so thankful for Amber's decorating talent! Amber was such a huge help to me and made it so much fun!

My wonderful mom slaved away making all of the food for the party, served it, and then she and my dad cleaned up! I was also thankful for the help of my brother and dad for helping set up, my sister and brother-in-law for picking up the pizza for the kids, my sister for being my photographer for the night, and my mother-in-law for watching the boys all day while I ran all around town getting ready for the party.

Josh had no idea his mom was coming! She flew in that morning, and we just made sure that he didn't talk to James on the phone or he would've spilled the beans. We were so thankful for all of our wonderful friends and family who came, especially those who went to great lengths! Anna pulled an all-nighter and flew in first thing, Michael, Jilinda, and Lydia drove from Dallas (their first time to Waco with Lydia!), Joey came from Dallas, and three of his friends were able to leave a board meeting out of town early to come!
After eating delicious pulled pork sandwiches, we sang Happy Birthday, ate yummy Italian Cream cake, and then the girls talked and the kids played while the boys played a basketball game. Josh had so much fun and told me later that he'd always wanted a surprise party!
His big present from me was a scrapbook full of letters from his parents, my parents, his siblings, my siblings, and his aunts and unlces telling Josh "Happy Birthday" and what he means to them. I knew Josh would treasure having something like that, since he is so close to his family. Everyone did such a nice job, and he absolutely loved it! He flipped through it, and said, "Wow! You got everybody!" and then we read them together that night before bed.
Last night was so much fun and a wonderful memory that we will always treasure!

Josh is 30!
Monday, Josh turned 30 years old! We had a wonderful day celebrating. Josh had been gone the week before in Arizona, and I passed him in the air on my way to Seattle for a wedding. We finally met up on Sunday, so Josh took his birthday off so we could spend the day together. It was such a nice day that was ended by getting a babysitter and having a wonderful dinner at Diamond Back's with Mom and Dad. Turning 30 is so monumental! So many things happened in our 20's (college, marriage, job/career change, moving, kids), and Josh said there's already a calming feeling about being 30 now. We talked about what we thought we'd be doing in 10 years, when he's 40, and we said we'd probably be sitting right where we were (on the couch), saying, "James and Jack, go to bed/stop antagonizing one another, Audrey or David (our #3 names for the moment), come give Daddy a hug." This weekend we're having our family party, and Michael, Jilinda, and Lydia are coming down to help celebrate!

Atlanta trip
We had another wonderful trip to see all our family in Atlanta! This was Jack's first time to fly and first time to meet a lot of Josh's side! James could hardly contain his excitement to get to see his cousins.
The trip started out with our good family friend, Tyler's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and we were so happy to be there!

We went out to see Papa Joe's new land. It is such a nice place, and I know the boys will have so much fun there throughout the years!

Jebby's birthday party! James has his eye on the prize!
Monday, we took one of Papa Joe's cars and drove to Florida! Florida was so much fun! We had a ton of people all staying together, and it just worked! Billy cooked us some great food, we played cards, we had lots of laughs, and Josh and I got lots of free, relaxing, alone time on the beach and at the pool together due to lots of willing babysitters!!! James cried after we left, "I want Florida back, I want Florida back!" over and over.
After Florida, we came back to Papa Joe's house. Jerrod, Amy, and the kids, and Aunt Jayne and Uncle Johnny came over 4th of July to hang out all day. We had such a nice time just visiting while all of the kids played.
This was so sweet that I had to get a picture. James was watching the train go by. He has loved this train since he was a baby!

5 Teeth At Once!
Scary picture, I know! But I just think this looks so painful! He is also getting one on the bottom that I didn't get a picture of. I'm so ready for these to get in! He is really having a hard time with them and we are up all throughout the night with him right now. I will post pictures of his new smile when they are in!

This is for Michael...
My mom made James' outfit for Michael when he was four. I pulled it out this morning and James said, "I'm not a baby!!!" I convinced him to wear it saying that Uncle Michael, Matthew, and Thomas all wore it when they were big boys.
Don't hate me, Michael. Mom sent me this! :)
