January was about as low key as it gets for us. Since this winter felt more like Spring most days, we spent a lot of time outdoors playing. We gave the boys a swingset for Christmas, and they have had so much fun playing out there! I'm so thankful for how it has brought them to play in the backyard so much more than they were doing before. They now spend hours every day (weather permitted) out in the backyard. Not always on the playset, but this has helped get them more in the habit of just going outside. They have also gotten to know our next door neighbors' kids really well since we got this playset, and we have thoroughly enjoyed having such sweet kids over to play with our boys! They are hilarious to watch together. Their oldest is a girl, and now they're playing house (which my boys would have never thought to play). James is the daddy, Jack is the little boy, the 6-year-old girl is the mom, and their 4-year-old boy is the teenager. Jack loves being babied and will do whatever she says!
We enjoyed eating some meals out on the deck with the little fire going.
We had our annual Barnhill kids sleepover, which was lots of fun! We ate pizza and drank hot chocolate on the deck, played games, watched football, and then they stayed over much of the next day, just playing together.
This was what happened one day when I gave Jack and banana and walked away. :/ This was not easy to clean up!
