Bad thing about summer tv...no good tv
Good thing about summer tv...more family time
Good thing about summer food...yummy fruits and veggies...easy to eat healthy
Bad thing about summer food...crave ice cream (ok, this is a good and bad thing)
Bad thing about pacis...James waking up in the middle of the night and crying for it.
Good thing about pacis...settling him down when he gets fussy in church, car, etc.
Bad thing about James rolling over...I can no longer put him on the couch or middle of the bed and leave for a second.
Good thing about James rolling over...it's a developmental milestone that he has reached.
Bad thing about Josh's back situation...the obvious...Josh being in pain...me being exhausted from not getting a break and doing everything that involves lifting
Good thing about Josh's back situation...putting life into perspective again and having a strong reminder of how God takes care of us
Bad thing...got in my first minor wreck with James in the car yesterday afternoon(someone plowed into me from behind b/c they didn't see me yielding)...scared me to death when he started screaming (thinking he was hurt)...My neck is sore today
Good thing...noone was hurt...wasn't my fault...God took care of my sweet baby!
Good Things...
*Bryon lending Josh his truck until his back gets better b/c it's easier to get in and out of
*Nice breezy evenings lately...sitting outside and enjoying them
*Summer smoothies
*Elizabeth teaching me good cooking tips earlier this week
*My snuggly sweet baby...watching him grow and do more things every week
*Seeing my friend Molly's precious new baby yesterday
*Old friends stopping by on their way through town today
*Josh feeling more and more back to his old self with each day that passes
*Homemade frozen cookie dough balls in my freezer (my fav)
*Fun weekend ahead...Michael and Jilinda coming for the weekend, celebrating Josh and Elizabeth's bday, Josh's best friend's graduation from law school and then dinner party with his family at my fav restaurant!

Pacis are much better than the dreaded thumb that Sam had. I pushed pushed pushed for Seth to like his paci...it won't be too much longer that he can put it in all by himself. I think Seth has like 15 pacis in his bed right now...all within reach (some of them even glow in the dark!).
Glad Josh is starting to feel better and you are both okay from the wreck. I know that is so scary, esp with kiddos in the car!
Don't forget the other good things:
Having two little nephews who:
Adore you and miss living next to you.
Look forward to spending the night with you.
Think your child is the coolest baby in the universe!
That is true, E. They don't get nearly as excited about seeing me anymore as they do James. I know he will idolize them soon!
Ilove you james

vhx bn g bv (i love you too!)
james (aka jame, jamesy, jamzizizi, jameser)
Didn't know he was doing that.
That's hilarious! He's commented as much as Bryon now!
Matthew, I'm a little disappointed this morning. I expect this kind of cheese from your mom and Aunt Lauren, but I would have never dreamed that you would participate. I know that you are a man's man, so I'll give you one free pass.

James,
You're too young to hold you accountable for that post. Knowing your pop, I'm not too worried about you, though.

Michael-
I don't think anyone who spends 3.5 seconds with my boy could ever question the fact that he is a man's man! ;)
Yeah...mine too!
God is good!!! I am glad to hear that things are gettin better and yes I love the fruits of the summer... The last evenings are getting to me though. I love to be out in the evening as long as the sun is up and now...Dinner is always late... OH WELL...
Take care!
So sorry to hear about the problems with Josh's back. I hope the doc can do whatever is necessary in correcting it. I have a love/hate relationship with the passy as well. I love the fact that it is so handy in getting him quiet in church or restaurant...but we tried to take it away at night/naps and he literally freaked out! That is going to be the hardest thing to do! I think I will wait til he is 18months.
When he was 4-5months it was extremely nice however when he was able to find it in the middle of the night and put it back in himself. We attached the passy to one of those passy clips and he was able to follow that down with his hand and pop the passy right in. This was in the process of not getting up in the night every time he lost it so we started the clip. I'm glad James is sleeping so well for you.
Summer tv is absolutely absurd! I don' care who's going to be America's next top model, best juggler, most amazing dancer, or biggest IDIOT! And yet I watched 2/3 of an episode of the Regis Philbin "contest" before I finally shook myself out of the spell of watching those poor people embarrass themselves.
And I have yet to catch the episodes of Grey's that I missed in the spring!
Yummy Cookie Dough! We ate about a tube a week of that in college, but I'm sure your homeade kind is much better than that pilsbury slice and bake!
I'm so glad that you and James were okay after your accident! I love this blog-its great that you can look at the positives even after the crazy past week you hae had!
Amen on the tv shows, but it does make me appreciate it more during the fall. I miss James so much. It is almost unbearable when I think about it.
Good: Glad that James is growing and developing skills.
Bad: We are not there to see it.
Aunt Jo Anna,
James misses you like crazy, too, and wants you to come see him!!!
Hi! I have been reading your blog for a few months now and finally decided to get my own. I found your site through Kristen, whom I don't know, but she was on Stephanie M's blog who is a friend. We have known her and her husband for over nine years. That to say~I am not some freak-o. I just visit several blogs from Kristen's links, like Elizabeth, Brooke and a couple of others. Check out mine and you'll see that I am just a mom as well. It just took us forever to get a family started. God's timing is perfect. Leave me a comment so I know you don't think I'm crazy! : )
