We're Home!

We got back late this afternoon from Atlanta. I wanted to thank you all for your prayers and sweet comments. The family enjoyed reading them, too. We all had such a nice time together, even though it was a sad occasion to get together. We all enjoyed telling and hearing Daddy Carl stories and remembering the full life he led. I know he would have been very happy listening to all of us if he were there. James had, I think, the best time out of all of us. Everywhere he went, there was his fan club, eager to hold him, kiss on him, make him laugh, and cheer when he did his tricks. Someone (I think Jo Anna) said, "No wonder he's so happy! We would be, too, if we had the same reception everytime we turned a corner!" His Georgia family taught him how to give a five, so he has given lots of fives in the past few days.

I started looking at my camera manuel, and I found out lots of things I didn't know I could do before. It pays to read, doesn't it? Not that y'all will notice a difference, since I turn pics to black and white on my computer, but I figured out that I can take b n w and cepia pictures.

Smiling at his daddy.

He sat very still in Mama Gloria's lap for 30 minutes (very rare), so Josh's cousin snapped a bunch of pictures.

That is so sweet he sat in Mama Gloria's lap! I love that name by the way. These pictures make him look like a big boy!

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I know this must have hit your husband hard. Losing a special grandparent is one of those pivitol moments in your life. I can only imagine how much joy and pleasure James brought Mama Gloria during this time.

Next time you come to Atlanta we need to arrange a meeting at Starbucks...I live in Marietta/East Cobb. I'd love to meet a fellow Christian blogger.

He looks so much older in that picture of him smiling. And it looks like his hair is getting longer. Wow, I just can't believe how big he looks:) I'm glad you were able to visit with family, I just hate that it had to be under those circumstances.

Sounds like you guys had a great visit and lots of time to trade memories. James does look very grown up in those pictures...

What a sweet pic of Mama Gloria at the end with James - so glad you guys managed to enjoy eachothers company despite the sad reason for being together. Also glad you're back safe and sound - keep the pics coming...ecspecially now that you've learned new settings on your camera!
