Boy did I have an exciting morning!! I was sitting on the floor of our living room playing with James, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a snake less than a foot away from me! It was about a 9 inch long garden snake. This is the third year in a row this has happened! I screamed a few times, which scared James half to death, but I couldn't help it and was having something close to a panic attack! I called Elizabeth to try to get her to talk me through killing it, but I panicked and it escaped. I couldn't find it anywhere, so I made Elizabeth come over and find and kill it for me. I don't know if I've ever been as scared as I was when I couldn't find it. It disappeared right before my very eyes, and at one point I thought it might have crawled up my pajama bottoms. Talk about a freak-out moment. Thankfully, Elizabeth found the snake hiding under a table and killed it with our shovel. Even his death was dramatic. He wouldn't die, so Elizabeth put on gardening gloves, I got a sack, and she had to pick him up and put him in the sack. We both screamed the whole time and then ran the sack to the dumpster. Luckily it is trash day, so it's gone!! Whew!!! I'm still on an adrenaline rush right now! I took a picture, so as soon as I go back home (I just needed to get out of the house after that, so I'm at Elizabeth's), I'll post the picture.
Part of it is behind this toy, but this was as good as it was going to get!

I had to add this one. James missed his morning nap because of this, and he was so tired by the time we got home that he fell asleep in the middle of a bite of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
