We're back!

Thank you so much for your prayers on our behalf! We had a whirlwind of a trip! Despite the circumstances, we had such a wonderful time with his family and were glad to get an extra trip in to see them. The funeral was so nice and fitting for the person she was. Josh had a really hard time once he saw her and realized it was real, but after everything was over, we all had such an overwhelming peace about it. Seeing her and taking it all in really put life into perspective. I was so moved by so many things while I was there, but what has really given me so much peace and excitement is knowing where she is right now. Jo Anna (Josh's sister) and I decided to look up all the verses in the Bible we could find on what happens after we die (This was during one of the many hours we were in the car Wednesday). It was so neat to read about how after people die, they really are still aware of their family, and I think that means they are watching over us (Luke 16:19-28). I like to think that even though my mom's mom (who everyone says was an amazing woman) knows me and loves me, even though she died before I was born. I have always known that heaven will be exciting, but it really hit me on this trip how real it is! That is such an incredible gift to us from God that we will be in heaven one day where we will be whole and complete. We are God's creation, and only He knows how to make us whole...and it's not here on earth! I think we should live with the excitement like you have the week before you are about to go on a really awesome vacation to a fabulous destination, because that is what will happen at the end of our lives.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Josh's grandmother. I have heard so many wonderful stories (and tremendous chapel sermons) about this woman that I feel her "Legacy" has been one of inspiration and greatness for even those who have never met her. What a wonderful point you made at this time to be joyous and excited about how great heaven will be. You are always so positive and wise, even in hard situations like this. My prayers are still with you, Josh, and your family.
