James' new youth chair

We had one of these growing up and loved sitting in it. Since James hasn't gone near his highchair in a long time and hates booster seats, we got him this youth chair! I'm so excited about having this for all of our children and even keeping it for grandchildren. It's actually helping James stay at the table during the whole meal, which is worth every penny to me!

Btw-the yellow shirt in the picture above is his shirt of choice. He always asks to wear t-shirts now and when I let him pick one out, he wants that one.

Good news!

Good news!  Went to the doctor today, and everything appears to be normal.  He does still have an echogenic bowel, but there is absolutely nothing else that looks abnormal.  He said that if it were a virus, there would most likely be an enlarged liver, or brain, growth, or placenta abnormalities and there was none of that.  He said it all looked great.  He said that after he is born, the pediatrician will do tests and such, and we'll watch his bowel movements to see if everything looks normal, and then we'll know for sure.  He spent a lot of time talking to us and calming our fears.  He said that with nothing else showing an abnormality, that 99.9% of the time, it is just nothing at all and will go away!  Thank you so much for your prayers!

Is our newest baby boy precocious already? I hope you can see this, but this is a close-up of his face (on the right half of the picture. I turned it to where his face is upright). His mouth is open, and it looks like he's sticking his tongue out at us!! The doctor said that he's showing us what he thinks about us doing this ultrasound on him!

"Daddy's homep" and more

*James is putting s's and p's on the end of words all of the time now where they don't belong. When a word ends with the "m" sound, he'll put a "p" sound after it...for example "homep", "ice creamp", and now, I am "Momp". First of all, it's a little crazy that he's already calling me mom (although he still uses Mommy too), but it makes me laugh every time he says "momp". So, that title is not a type-o, that is just what he says every day when Daddy comes homep. The "s" seems to come after the "n" sound, like "Keltons".

Running to sit at the curb and watch for Daddy!

Waiting for Daddy

James loves to get in the passenger side and ride up to the house with Daddy.

*I wanted make note of how much James has changed this summer. He is so much more grown up now than he was at the beginning of summer. We have noticed huge changes in his talking, his maturity, the way he plays at home and with others, and he has grown so much! He is now growing out of his size 8 shoes and as soon as I make it to the mall he'll be in size 9's. He is a lot taller and slimmer in the torso, too. Those thighs are still as cute and chunky as ever, though!

*This afternoon, I asked James what he did at church. He looked up and said, "uhh, singins, cheerios". It's fun to see what stands out the most to him. Then he got on the pretend phone and said, "He-yo, Susannah (his friend at church). Have fun church? Bye!". He is really into pretending right now and mimics Josh and me to the T. He says, "bye" on his pretend conversations the exact way I do, which is interesting to me to realize what I sound like through my two-year-old!

*I have thought about my niece, Hannah, during both pregnancies this day, because I am 23 weeks and 1 day, which is the exact day she and her brother, Jacob, came into the world during Jo Anna's pregnancy. Jacob died at birth and they weren't going to work on Hannah, since she came before viability, but she came out pink and crying! She is 11 years old now and as healthy and perfect as can be! What a miracle she was and is!

*Also, we are officially undecided now on our baby's name. We are having 2nd thoughts and are now wanting to think some more before we decide for sure!

*This weekend was Mary Beth's 4th birthday party. Here are some pictures from her swimming party.
My boys in their matching shirts. James was so excited to go to another birthday party.  He is just now obsessed with birthday parties.
He couldn't have cared less at his own just a few
months ago! I cut up cornbread into squares this week, and he said,
"Oh! Birthday party!! Yea!!" because the cornbread was in the shape and the color of birthday cake.

He stood on his tip-toes for the longest time and inhaled two pieces of cake.  He usually is so particular, even about his sweets, but he was loving this cake!
He then went around to people asking for more "irthday cake".

Pictures and some good news

We had a really fun weekend with Uncle Michael and Aunt Jilinda in Dallas!

The weekend started off in Waco at a Friday morning Backyardigans show.  Elizabeth and I took the little two and got to see Kristen and her boys there and then have lunch with them!

Then James and I headed up to Dallas.  We ate some good Mexican food Friday night, but I think the highlight of the night for James was having a firetruck come straight to the house!  Michael had a faulty smoke alarm, so it was nothing worrisome, but James' eyes lit up and he just stared at it for the longest time.  He got to go in and they even turned the lights on for him!  He talked about it for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday I bought the double stroller that we'd been looking at for a while.  I highly recommend it to anyone needing a double stroller for taking out and about, going on walks, traveling, etc.   My favorite thing about it is that it can be used as a single stroller, or you can add the extra seat and use it with a newborn and toddler, baby and toddler, or toddler and toddler.

Saturday night, James heard his first Ozzy Osborn concert at the Oz fest in Frisco!  We didn't actually GO to the concert :) we just got a snow cone around the corner and heard him singing and talking.  It was crazy around there and cool to get to hear him!

Josh got home last night and we have been thoroughly enjoying the Olympics!  I started laughing and crying simultaneously when Michael Phelps and the 3 others won the relay!  Wasn't that incredible?!!

I also wanted to share some good news.  Josh and I took blood work a week and a half ago to test for Cystic Fibrosis.  My doctor said that we'd probably be in to Temple before we got the results back in a week, but we decided to do the blood work anyway.  I'm so glad we did now since it's taking longer than we thought!  My doctor called me on Friday to tell me that neither one of us has a gene for CF!  That's a huge blessing!  I will keep you updated, but probably won't be anything else to report on until a week from Friday.

Appointment

Just wanted to let y'all know that I finally heard back about an appointment for my in-depth ultrasound.  It's going to be Friday, August 22, at 2:45.  It has been a long, hard week of waiting and not being able to think about anything else, but I am feeling more at peace now and am so glad to have a date.

Josh is going to be out of town all weekend, so James and I are going up to Dallas tomorrow to spend a couple of days with my brother and sister-in-law.  I very much needed to get away and do something fun, and poor James does too!

Thanks so much for your prayers!
