Making Progress!

Now that I'm in my third trimester, I'm feeling the pressure to get everything done that needs to be done before the baby gets here. Josh and I have had a lot of fun getting started on the nursery. A couple of weekends ago, Josh and his good friend Joey spent the whole Saturday painting our nursery (thanks again Joey!), and it looks great! We finally decided on a crib and the bedding, too. Here are some pics of the progress so far (we have a long ways to go still!).

50 things about me

My friend, Amanda W, inspired me to post this list that I started making in February of last year! I was trying to get to 100, but I stopped at 50. Maybe I'll do 50 more at another time.

Here's a few things about me that you might not know...

1. I am a girly girl, who also likes to watch and play sports (though I'm not that good).
2. Coffee makes me happy.
3. Girl talk makes me really happy.
4. I am 5'7" and usually wear 7 1/2 shoe size, but being 6 months pregnant, I'm an 8.
5. I am a very relationship oriented person.
6. I was more interested in having fun than studying in college.
7. I love to shop, whether it's buying a gift or buying for myself.
8. I love to go on drives.
9. One of my favorite things in the world to do is hug and kiss my nephews and nieces.
10. I love my in-laws...especially my sis-in-law, who is one of my favorite people to talk to.
11. I love to organize, but feel a weird sadness when everything is all done (I know...it's crazy!).
12. I love hot baths and take one almost every day, except when pregnant.
13. I wash my hair every other day.
14. I wear make-up every other day lately.
15. My perfect meal is meat and chocolate or cookies.
16. I have the best big sister in the world, who loves to make me these things.
17. I adore my family (both my little family and big family).
18. I adore my friends.
19. I love going to movies.
20. My favorite desserts are Cowboy cookies and Christmas sugar cookies.
21. I love to cook.
22. I'm usually not good with change, except big ones like graduating, getting married, moving, etc...I don't understand myself!
23. I was outgoing, had lots of friends, and was named "class clown" in 5th grade.
24. I was shy and a nerd in 6th grade when I moved towns.
25. My pet peave is inconsiderate people and parents who enable their children.
26. I love buying new shoes.
27. My favorite thing in the world to do is on Saturday mornings, drink coffee and talk with Josh about dreams and plans or whatever is going on.
28. I have a problem with controlling my laughter in inappropriate situations.
30. I secretly dream and crave writing a book, even though I'm not the best writer and have nothing to write about.
31. I love doing make-overs on myself and friends, but I usually spend 5 minutes putting my make-up on in the car on the way to work (have done that since high school...I know, it's bad!).
32. I LOVE food and LOVE to eat, but also get a strange joy out of counting calories and dieting.
33. When I was in 2nd grade, I missed school to be in a Christian tv show for kids.
35. I've met or seen a lot of famous people, once had one ask me to sit down and eat with them senior year of high school, but I was so nervous and starstruck that I quickly said "I just ate", which I had. I don't think my dad standing down the street would have let me anyway!
36. My biggest fears are speaking in front of people and something happening to Josh.
37. I have brown hair and blue eyes, same as Josh. People have told us before we look like brother and sister.
38. If I could be anyone for just a week, it would be a movie star on a set.
39. I used to pretend in high school that I was dating Tom or Brad (Cruise and Pitt of course).
40. My nickname in high school was Noxema Girl.
41. I never get called that anymore! :(
42. My other nicknames are Lazentoodles, Laz, Lar, L, Lazens, Wazens
43. I usually don't pay attention to details.
44. I am fascinated by life and people.
45. I love surrounding myself with optimistic people.
46. I procrastinate all of the time, except at school.
47. I love to buy cooking utensils.
48. I love to sing and harmonize with people and know this is nerdy, but sometimes crave being in a choir like I was in high school.
49. I am a very passionate person.
50. I love to watch crime solving shows and reality tv, but only the good ones. =)

Here's the picture I took with David Charvet (from Baywatch), the star I talked about in #35.

The Biggest Loser

On New Year's Day, as we were sitting around the living room at Josh's aunt and uncle's house in Atlanta after a big New Year's Day feast, the family decided it would be fun to do a Biggest Loser 2006 competition. I of course can't enter, because I'm going to be gaining lots of weight until April, but Josh on the other hand entered, and I'm very excited to see the results next year. By the way, they all decided to do the final weigh in AFTER the holidays next year to keep everyone good through New Years! That's going to take discipline!! I love this about Josh, but most people gain the holiday 5 to 10 lbs...but Josh gains the holiday 20-30! He loves to eat and LOVES holiday food, which makes him so much fun to cook for, but he always has to diet come Jan. 1. The sickening thing is, I can never really tell that he has gained that much weight, and when he sets his mind to it, it just comes right off faster than it ever could on me! If I gained 20-30 lbs, I'd look like...oh wait, I'd look like I do now! =) Anyways, everyone who entered put in $50, making the pot $500! I'm going to do my best to keep Josh motivated, so he can win it for our family! I'll let you know in January 1, 2007, who the big winner/loser is!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a very happy Christmas and New Years! Ours was wonderful, filled with family, good food, and lots of fun! We spent Christmas day with my family and really enjoyed having a new addition to the family this year, my future sister-in-law, Jilinda.

After Christmas, we drove to Atlanta and spent a week with Josh's fam. We had such a nice time there and were very glad able to spend a week, thanks to my wonderful teacher schedule.

Our trip ended at the Sugar Bowl, where Josh got to watch his favorite team (my second favorite) play, even though they frustratingly gave the game away to West Virginia. The day was not a total waste, because my favorite team (Josh's second favorite), Alabama, won their bowl game, so we were very happy about that. We left right after the Georgia game to drive back home. Thankfully, it was an exciting game that gave Josh plenty of adrenaline to stay awake. He was so awake that he wanted to just get it over with instead of going home at 1am and sleeping a few hours before making the long drive, figuring he'd be more tired that way.

Since we got home, we have pretty much gutted our house and are almost finished organizing it from top to bottom. There is nothing better than getting rid of junk and making your house an organized, clutter-free place to live! The only thing we have left to do is the nursery. I am getting so excited now that I have some ideas going for what we're going to do. I will post pics when we get it all done. Might be a while, though!
