Let me start by saying that James had his 2 month appointment yesterday, and my baby is in the 90th percentile for height and 105th percentile for weight!!! He's off the charts!! Both sides of the family were all big babies, so I'm not that surprised. When I told Josh, he got the biggest smile on his face! He's a proud papa!
Updates:
* He weighs 15 1/3 lbs
* He's trying to stand in my lap a lot. The nurse giving him his shots couldn't believe how strong he was. (Another thing that made Josh proud)
* He's starting to try to roll over.
* He absolutely LOVES to be sung to and kinda started "singing" with me yesterday.
* His hair started growing back, so no bald baby
* Oh...how could I forget...HE'S SLEEPING 8 HOURS EVERY NIGHT NOW!!!
* He loves his daddy and smiles the most for him.
* He's getting to be a much faster eater, which is nice for me.
* He's such a sweet baby, and I think he's going to be laid back and calm (who knows though), but with a great little personality. (It's starting to come out more and more)
Now let me back up to this weekend. We had a really fun time getting away at the Summer Regional. We got to hang out with Michael and Jilinda, who live in Dallas while we were there, which made it extra nice. James was SUCH a good traveler, which made things so nice and easy. He slept in the hotel crib at night, only cried during the day to be fed about every time we stopped. Slept the rest of the time in the car. I couldn't have asked for him to be better. Now the drama was with his daddy. Some of you know this, but Josh is severely allergic to pine nuts. His throat will close up, he gets hives, he throws up, he swells, and more until he gets an Epipen shot. Well, we went to the Blue Mesa in Frisco to eat lunch with a group of people from the convention. He asked the waiter if the appetizer had pine nuts in it. He said no (he was new), so Josh had a couple of bites. He knew right away that he had just eaten pesto (which contains pine nuts), when his mouth started to swell. A guy we were eating with took him back to the hotel to get his shot, but then he realized that he had let it expire 3 years! This had happened 3 times in his life before this weekend...last time being our honeymoon in St. Lucia 4 years ago (3rd world country + ER = scary!), which was the last time he had gotten an Epipen. Obviously that was no good, so we went to an ASAP clinic VERY fast as things were quickly getting worse. They took good care of him there, and he was fine by that evening. Yes, the Blue Mesa will be paying for that! We had an awards banquet, which he didn't want to miss, so he went looking white as a ghost and tired. We learned two lessons...never let the Epipen expire and always ask for a list of common allergic ingredients.
We came back early Sunday morning to go to church since it was Josh's 1st Father's Day! The drama continued when my Grandma passed out in church and had to be wheeled out and taken in an ambulance to the hospital. Luckily everything was fine, she had just gone too long without eating and taken pills on an empty stomach (and maybe had gotten a little overheated). Our Father's Day meal that Elizabeth had spent hours cooking and Father's Day celebration got a little messed up, but it could have been a lot worse!
James and I have had a very fun week, because my dear friend Amanda came to visit. We had the best time together shopping, laughing, reminiscing, eating good food, and most fun of all, playing with James. Thanks for making that drive, Amanda!! I will be doing it early next year to see her baby due in December!

Wow! You have had a very eventful time lately! Thank goodness Josh is alright. I think I would have been freaking out. I can't believe James' percentile for weight! HE really must be eating good for you. I wish I could hold that cutie-pa-tootie:) I'm glad he was a good traveler for you. We had to drive straight back from Ohio to Memphis (9hrs) and the last 4 hrs Thomas decided he had enough of being in his car seat. It wasn't pretty.
Oooh...I'm sorry! That must have been rough. When are you coming to Texas?? I'm dying to hold your cutie-pa-tootie, too!!
L,
Oh my! Drama filled weekend! I bet you can count yuor blessings that Little James was not a contributor to the drama!
James is as cute as ever! I'm dying to get my hands on him. I'm glad Josh had a good First Father's Day!
I can't wait to see you guys in less than a week! Be prepared for me to hog that baby!
Wow! Talk about a long weekend. Super scary but it sounds as though you all handled it like experts. He sure is growing UP fast. Glad to hear that all is better and that James was calm. For some reason, when ever a babe cries when things are rough already, it really seems to do a number on everyone. The calm in the storm!!!! Keep growing little man....
I wish you would have called me...I could have jetted up to Blue Mesa and taken you our epipen! I was so sad that Sam was sick and we didn't get to see you when you were so closeby!
Could that James get any cuter??? He is adorable and I just wish I could squeeze him up. What a cute little boy you have.
Ahhh...didn't think about that! I didn't know you had one! Next time I'll know. :) If something happens to you here, you'll know you can call us!

glad josh had a wonderful father's day! how exciting!
miss you!! and my little baby james.
Have you been busy?? Haha! ;) I miss you, too! You need to come see us again!
Lauren,
I believe we have actually met before. Were you at Seth O'Quinns baby shower? I know your sister was there. I am also very good friends with Kristen O'Quinn and The Seidels, her parents and my grandparents use to be neighbors. So Kristen has known me since before I could walk! What a small world, I thought it was crazy when I met Kim and found out that she too knew the Seidels. The Seidels/OQuinns must be pretty popular people! ;) Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers. I have been reading your blog and your son is adorable, but of course he has great genes!!
Faith,
I guess we did meet, because I was there! What a small world!! Kristen's mom and my mom are very good friends from when the Seidels lived in Waco. Kristen and my sister were youth group friends and Stephen and I were youth group friends, but we're all kinda like family. Thanks for commenting. Your son will be beautiful I'm sure, too! Y'all are still in our prayers. I'll be reading your blog for updates!
