Josh, James, and I are back from a long trip to Atlanta! We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed spending so much time with family!! James got COMPLETELY spoiled and enjoyed every second of all the attention he got from his 50+ relatives who live there. We left last Friday and got back around 2:30 a.m. last night. Thankfully, James slept 10 out of the 12 hours on the road yesterday, woke up to eat and get changed at 2:30, and then went right back to sleep until 7:30. I think he REALLY missed his bed! Aunt Jo Anna said at the beginning of the week that he would be crawling before he left Atlanta, and sure enough he did!! He crawled yesterday before we left!! We were so proud and excited to see his uneven, hilarious crawl! It's funny because he takes breaks to rest his head half of the time, and then gets back up to do another crawl, and one leg goes up so high sometimes that he rolls onto his back. He knows he's doing something exciting to us (probably the cheering and squeeling gives it away), and he gets excited, too, putting his head down to the floor and squeeling along with us.
Josh and I were wired last night when we got in, so Josh put on the DVR'd Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game and I got caught up on blogs and emails. The game was such a good one that we both got into it, and we ended up watching the whole game. We didn't get to bed until4:50! That was not very smart of us, since James won't exactly let us get caught up, but thankfully Georgia WON!! We are going to decorate our house today for Christmas, which I have been looking forward to since about this summer! I was James's age my first Christmas, and my mom said that I loved the lights and presents, so I can't wait to see James's reaction!! I took tons of pictures of our trip, so check back for some later.

I can't believe he's crawling! He is growing too fast!! You'll have to video it and post it on here so I can see...because I hate not being able to!
I love the picture of James with the hat on outside-too cute! I'm so glad you guys had a great time and that James is such a great road tripper! Hopefully he will continue to be so we can get together more!
Doesn't he look the happiest with his auntie Jo Anna? What a precious nephew he is! I can still hear his cackle. Ya'll come back soon, ya hear?
It does look like James was spoiled a ton! That hat is too cute - where did you find it?
What a great family xmas pic - you all look beautiful! And I love the pic of James looking out the window...I love spur of the moment pics like that! So glad you guys had a great Thanksgiving and a safe trip to Atlanta - sounds like ya'll had a blast!
You said you were going to have to work on getting a family Christmas card picture...It looks like you've got a PRECIOUS one right here! You all look so festive and happy sitting by the fire!
L,

Glad you had a great time! I grew up in Atlanta....which part did you go to?
LOVE the pic of you in the black & white sweater! you look FANTASTIC! i miss those rosy cheeks. ;) james is perfectly adorable! i can't believe how much bigger he looks in those pics! glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with a great fam!
Kim, That's a good idea! I'll work on that!
Audrey, I actually got that for my nephew Thomas when he was a little older than James at baby Gap.
Corrie, I actually thought that after taking a few pictures of us on Thanksgiving Day, so we took a bunch more, but the first ones were the best. Maybe there's something about trying to take a Christmas picture that makes it not turn out!
Jacinda, We go all over Atlanta. We mostly stay at his dad's in Smyrna, then we go to his aunt and uncle's a lot in Fayetteville. We'll also go to his grandparent's in East Point, his brother's in Ola, his cousin's in Locust Grove, another aunt and uncle's in Lawrenceville, and his sister's in Dacula (near Stone Mountain). So we literally cover all directions of Atlanta and always put a ton of miles on the car while we're there. Josh grew up in Jonesboro (which Tara in Gone with the Wind is loosely based on) and went to Morrow High. Where are you from?
Suz, Thank you so much! I miss you and can't wait for you to see James, since he has grown so much since you were here last!
Wow!!! 4:50a.m.??? Reliving those youthful dayz! James is already crawling:) That is so exciting!!! In no time he will be zooming around on all fours so fast you won't believe it. Love the pics! Looks and sounds like you had a lot of fun.
Wow Lauren, you do go all over Atlanta! I grew up in Gwinnett County in Lilburn which is near Lawrenceville & Stone Mountain, etc. I attended Greater Atlanta Christian School which is in Norcross and I went to Campus Church of Christ. I always like finding an "Atlanta connection!"
Jacinda,
Josh's family has lots of connections to GACS! His sister teaches there, our niece goes there (we went there Tuesday to eat lunch with her), his cousin went there, a couple of aunts went there, and his grandfather was involved a long time ago. His aunt and uncle from Lawrencville go to Campus C of C, and his sister went there for a while.
Wow! Every time you mentioned him being from Atlanta I've wondered if I "knew" him or his family. I went to GACS from K-graduation and my dad works there.
Who is his sister who teaches there and who is his family who goes to church at Campus?
Did y'all meet at Harding? When did you graduate?
You can email me if you don't want to write too much stuff on here. chrisjacinda@bellsouth.net
