10 Months!

Here are some fun or funny things my 10 month old is doing...

~~ Saying "Ba-ba" while waving with lots of passion when someone leaves (not prompted by us anymore). Last night we had life group at our house. When it was time for everyone to leave, he was so serious about waving to everyone that he didn't stop from the time the first person left until the last person left. He has a serious look on his face, and his whole arm moves up and down with great speed and strength.

~~ He's exploring the whole house by wall walking and crawling really fast. He'll turn around and see if we're following him once he's about to exit a room and loves it (starts going faster and squeeling) when we chase him.

~~ His favorite things to play with are drawers and cabinets. Nevermind all of the toys we have for him, he'd rather stand up to the end table, open the drawer, and pull out whatever's in there. Then he'll take one thing for each hand and crawl around, holding them wherever he goes.

~~ He's standing alone for a few seconds at a time.

~~ He's squating.

~~ He repeats us with wide eyes when we say, "No, no." He says, "Ni, ni."

~~ He says Mama, Dada, and Ba-ba on his own, but he repeats other words after we say them, like Josh, James, Hi, juice, etc., but in his own baby way. He'll sometimes mimic short sentences that we say to him with similar tone. He has no clue what he's saying, but he's experimenting with his voice and it's so neat to hear!

~~ He's gotten a MIND OF HIS OWN lately! This just started a couple of weeks ago, but he is getting to be very opinionated and has a little temper when he doesn't get his way. It's kinda funny, but I'm trying my hardest not to laugh so I don't reinforce a negative behavior. Sometimes I just can't help myself, though!

~~ He takes a little while to warm up to adults, but he feels immediately comfortable with children. I took him up to my old school, and he took a while to go to my teacher friends, but when I introduced him to a class, he started waving, laughing, and clapping for them. He was LOVING his big audience and did all of his tricks for them. They got the biggest kick out of him and started chanting, "All hail, King James!" over and over. It was hilarious!

~~He's giving kisses now, which is just him opening his mouth and putting it on ours when we pucker up. It's so sweet, though, and melts my heart everytime. Sometimes we get lucky and he'll reach up and put his hand on our faces.

Here are a few of his Sears 9 month pictures.

This was the outfit Thomas wore at our wedding.

What great pictures - his Oshkosh outfit is darlin'! He sounds like he is a very curious, intelligent and fast baby - how cute that he's started taking waving so seriousely!!! By the looks of his pics, he is getting longer and thinner. Hope you all are continuing to feel better!

Oh James-Your growing so fast! You are so smart talking already and I get the bigget kick out of imagining you waving and "exploring" your house!

And I forgot to mention his Satty hands are so sweet! There is one good shot of them where he's holding on to the tree. Love all the pictures!

Lindsey,
He is getting longer and thinner. I guess being so active has caused his rolls to start going away!

Kim,
I forget how big his hands are until I see them compared to other babies!

Lisa,
I can't tell if he's laid back, because he's so active, but I guess he's laid back when he's not being active.

Suzanne,
How exciting! We will be here! You'll have to come over or we can meet for coffee!

He is for sure going to be a social butterfly, like both of his parents...maybe a bit more like his dad! He is so fun, Harry says he wants James to teach him all of his new tricks!

What a doll! Was the black and white photo taken at Sears too?

Aware,
Yes...his daddy is the more social butterfly, although I think Josh would rather me drop the word butterfly in describing James and him.

Audrey,
Yes, the last 3 were all Sears. They can do black and white and sepia!

How adorable. Enjoy every minute of this first year - you will never regret knowing his personality so well. You are certainly blessed with a beautiful son.

What a cutie! 10 months is one of my most favorite ages.

His pictures turned out great. One of my favorite pictures I have of Seth is in that same outfit from your wedding. It has definitely gotten some use after the big event!

I love reading your posts about what James is doing at a certain age. Since he is just a couple of months older than Will, it's neat to think that Will might be doing some of those same things soon. James is so cute and seems to have such a sweet disposition. Of course, with such a sweet mom and dad, it only seems natural that he would be a sweet person too.
