Did anyone else just LOVE the American Idol finale last night?! It was my favorite so far! It was so entertaining, and it just made me so happy to see things like
1)Sanjaya singing with Aerosmith's guitar player (can't think of his name)
2)the cat/tiger guy...I laugh inside every time I think about him
3)Ruuuuuuben, the velvet teddy bear
4)Kelly
and many more things!
I need your help! Josh and I have not seen hardly ANY movies in the past two years, due to being pregnant and having James. We haven't even been renting because 1)our dvd player is broken and 2)we're out of the habit. Josh has actually seen more than me, because he'll go with my brother-in-law at night sometimes, but the last movie I saw in the theater was "The Nativity Story" during Christmas (which I LOVED!). Now that all of the fall shows are over, we want to start renting movies again. Can you please tell me a movie or two or three that you've seen in the past couple of years that you really loved? I figured you all could benefit from this, too! I saw Dreamgirls on an airplane and loved it, by the way! Thanks!!

You know I adored Music and Lyrics. I'll watch anything with Hugh Grant in it!
Freedom Writers
Watch Because I Said So. Try and get Elizabeth and you mom to watch it together. Diane Keaton was great.
We have been renting one through our dvr cable box every weekend lately-seen The Holiday-great
Lady in the Water-hokie
The Good Shepherd-good
We saw both Holiday and Music and Lyrics recently and both were really good. I also liked Employee of the Month.
The Pursuit of Happyness (excellent)
National Treasure (great and you could watch it with kids in the room)
Little Miss Sunshine (weird, quirky, but made me laugh days later -- a movie that makes our families look "normal")
I enjoyed The Holiday also.
I forgot a funny documentary that I liked. It's about kids who are trying to win the National Spelling Bee and I really laughed pretty hard at some of the situations. It's called "Spellbound".
I would've commented sooner if I knew you were accepting comments again! Rent Catch and Release - it's SO cute!!
I second Lindsey, rent Catch and Release...soooo good! Also, if you get tired of chick flicks, the Pirates of the Carribean movies are fun to watch.
We liked Will Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction, and Music and Lyrics was really good too. We Are Marshall was good in that cheesy-but-really-good-movie kind of way!
have you seen garden state? it is a few years old. i love it! if you can get past the first half hour, it is really good!
I also have heard that Night at the Museum was good. It's PG so shouldn't be too bad.
Have ya'll seen Apocalypto? (The one MEl Gibson directed.) We watched it last night and I think Josh would like it and you might too...it's very suspenseful but overall was an amazing movie that left me wanting to learn more about the Mayan Civilization!!
Hey Lauren! I found you and Satty's blog a few weeks ago. I have loved reading it. It sounds like ya'll are doing well. James is too cute! I love the pics of him in the swimsuit...hilarious:) Tell Satty I said hello!
The Holiday is really good!!
Thank you all for the great movie recommendations! I am so excited now to get started!! I am going to make a list tomorrow and put it up for everyone to go back to if they want.
I haven't seen most of these movies. The only ones I've seen on these comments are the Pirates of the Carribean, National Treasure, and Little Miss Sunshine. I loved all of them, too!
Natalie,
Thanks for commenting! I've been a blog "lurker" on yours ever since Tori was born, and I love it! She is so adorable! Josh says to say hi!
