Georgia Trip

We went to Altanta this past weekend for Josh's cousin's wedding and had a wonderful quick-trip to see all of the fam! We have been so blessed to be able to see Josh's side of the family almost every month this past year! The trip started with us leaving Thursday evening and staying with our friends, Matt and Amber, in Flower Mound, right by the airport. James had fun with his buddy Sam, and we had a great time visiting with them. Friday morning, we flew out to Atlanta. James did pretty well on the way up there, but was squirmy and constantly went back and forth from Mama to Daddy. We spent Friday with Papa-Joe. We went to a really pretty park, and James observed everything there was to observe. His favorite thing was the turtle, and his least favorite was the frog statue. Check out my photos to see evidence of this! He really loves his Papa Joe, and would fuss when he would go away. Papa Joe has a calming affect on James, and he would just let him hold him for as long as he wanted!

After that, we headed over to Aunt Ally's house to spend the night. James was very happy to see his Nana Anna, whom he'd just gotten to spend a week with (new blog on that below), his favorite twins, Jess and Jen (Jen is one of his girlfriends), Aunt Ally, Uncle Eddie, Paul, Mama Gloria, Auntie Jo Anna, Hannah, and Uncle Charles. We ate a yummy dinner, Nana Anna style!

Saturday was the wedding of Josh's cousin, Marissa. Saturday morning, Josh and I woke up around 9/9:30 ish, and found James entertaining all of the girls upstairs in the playroom. He ate up being the center of attention and did a lot of his tricks for them. There was keyboard music going on in the background, and James would be walking around, and then would stop and break out into dance, and then just keep going about his way! He also was walking around on his feet and head to get them to laugh. Everyone kept asking for kisses over and over, so he'd roll around to someone, open his mouth for a kiss, get one, and then move on to something else. He knows he's cute! The wedding was beautiful...from what I heard. I was in the nursery with James, but Marissa looked so beautiful and we couldn't be happier for them!

Saturday night, we went back over to Papa Joe's, met up with Jo Anna, Jerrod, Amy, Charles, and all of the cousins for some football watching. I was very happy that I got the other out-laws, Amy and Charles to root for Alabama with me! Josh was very disappointed in Amy, and she had lots of fun cheering very loudly for Alabama the whole time just to get at him. (Thanks again, Amy!:)) Sadly, Alabama lost, but I still was a little happy for Josh. :)

Sunday, we went to church and lunch with Papa Joe, and then Josh headed off to a Falcons game with his brother, Jerrod. Jo Anna and Hannah came over to hang out with James and me (Joe had a speaking engagement) at the house. James said his first three word sentence with them there (he makes a lot of developmental leaps when we're in Atlanta). He was obsessed (no exaggeration) with the "choo-choo" that goes behind Papa Joe's house often and very fast. Every time it would pass, he'd say, "Weh doe?" and several times he said, "Weh doe choo-choo?".

We left early this morning, and we are all wiped out! James ate more than he's ever eaten tonight (a full meal, 4 different vegetables, 2 fruits, and a full yo-baby!), so maybe he will wake up a couple of inches taller tomorrow! I'm going to continue to work on pictures. Hope everyone has a great week!

Thomas was watching the game the other night and said, "I will still be happy if Georgia wins because Uncle Josh would be happy!"
Gotta love that!

The pictures are great. Glad you are home!

It was fun to see all the pics of the weekend. Once again, thank you for all your work in keeping all of us in Ga. informed of all the goings on in Waco..I am thankful that my beloved son found such a wonderful person like you to share life with. You both are such an example of "loving each other", and being helpmates for each other..I love you, Mother Nana Anna

In about thirteen years, you are going to be able to use that first picture with the two girls to tease James so much...
