Update

Thank you guys for your sweet comments! I wanted to update y'all on how we're doing.

James thankfully never got worse and is slowly acting more and more like himself.

My energy is just now starting to pick back up. Today I feel like I'm back in the land of the living, but still pretty weak.

We have been trying to ease back into activity by doing little things like going on drives and slow walks (for my health and sanity!).

To answer some questions, no, we can't reschedule. The day before was too late in the game. We just simply lose our vacation! We're trying to keep it in perspective, but we are definitely a little down right now. We are going to try and use this week to do things we don't normally do. Josh and I are going to a bed and breakfast this weekend and are going to try to go to the movies one night this week. Josh is going to put in a light work week, but get home early so we can do things around town (as much as James and I can take).

I appreciate so much your prayers! I will leave you with two fun pics and one cute thing James is saying. I absolutely don't want to forget this and think this will be one of those things that we'll still be quoting when he's 30.

James learned to say I'm sorry from me saying that anytime he'd get hurt. It has progressed, and he's says it anytime he gets hurt in the slightest way or feels like he hurts someone or something in the slightest way. Yesterday, he was sitting in my lap facing me and lightly head bumping me to be silly. He got a suppressed grin and said, "Oh my! I sorry, mama." I can't quite capture the cuteness by writing it out, but I thought I'd try. It's kind of a mixture between a Canadian and a hillbilly, the way he pronounces it.

Here are the pics.

I'm so sorry you missed your big trip...but I hope you guys can have a fun, relaxing week. AND, hope you have a blast at the bed and breakfast. Glad you guys are feeling better. I have been scared to death of getting the flu (even though I had my shot). If a kid or patient I am seeing looks remotely sick, I won't treat them!!!

I'm glad yall are still trying to do some fun things together this week even though you couldn't go on your vacation! But it was the right decision for sure!

The pictures are cute- and one day he will despise you for putting the first one online! :)

My heart is still acheing for you that you missed your trip and that you and James are so miserably sick. I can't even imagine!
But you ALWAYS find the silver lining in every situation and this blog is proof.
Get well so you don't miss out on our girls trip asap!
I need to hear that canadian/hic accent in person! Sending prayers and hugs your way (and to sweet cheeks, too!)

I love that last pictures of James!! And baby booties are the cutest (though he'll probably not agree with you when he's a teenager!! LOL!) I'm glad you all are feeling better and that you caught it so early...that was such a blessing. Here's hoping you and Josh have a blast at the B&B and that you can take it easy this week!

Yes, I know he'll be embarrassed by this picture some day, but he has no say right now! :)

Kim,
I will be good to go for the girls trip! I can't wait!

Nic,
That sounds like fun! We should definitely do that once it gets warmer outside!

Glad you all are feeling better. The people I know that have had the flu this year have had to take it easy a lot longer than before. I think it is a different strain this year. So, take it easy!

I love little "behind" shot. They are good for bribing for when they are older! =)

Lauren, I'm sad that you guys missed your trip and that we missed hanging out with you and James while we were in Waco. I hope you continue to feel more energized!

L-

Thanks for the comment...I've missed lazislife!!! As you can tell, I got the email and was successful getting into your blog again....yay!!!

I'm so sorry you guys were so sick and lost your vacation...how heartbreaking. But, I'm glad you are feeling better...that crud was all over Childress for about a month and now it is finally moving out. It was really bad...I'm so thankful I never got it and Rich only had a mild case that lasted about 2 days.

Glad to be back blogging with you again, finally! Thanks!

Lauren,

I've been out of the blogger loop the past couple of weeks and am just now getting all caught up. I am SO SORRY to hear that you and James have been sick. I'm glad you are feeling a little bit better and hope you continue to get well :) So sorry to hear about your trip, too. Hopefully you, Josh and James will get lots of quality time together this week.
BTW, the pictures of James are precious and I especially enjoyed the story about how he said "sorry, mama" when he bumped your head. He seems to be such a sweet, sensitive and loving little boy.
