A new addition to our family...
I haven't blogged much lately because I've been a little distracted, for good reasons. Josh and I found out some big news...I'm pregnant!! Josh and I are expecting our first baby and couldn't be more excited!!! I guess after about 10 pregnancy tests (the first 6 being negative...I was very anxious) it's official! I am now enjoying the wonders of early pregnancy...exhaustion, morning...or all day sickness, and several other symptoms...but most of all, the anticipation of our first child! The baby's due date is April 15, which was the same as mine! Hopefully it will come around that date, unlike me, who came a week and a half later! Please keep us in your prayers for a healthy baby and a smooth pregnancy. We are going next week to see the baby for the first time! I will keep you updated!!

I am so excited. I can't wait for the new arrival. You will be spoiled to the hilt by your cousin Hannah and me.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!
Wow! How fun for you and Elizabeth, too!! An April baby is so neat.
I am so excited that the cat is out of the bag and we can talk about it!
I am ready to be the aunt! Love on baby, hold baby, rock baby, oh, baby is dirty? Here, mama! Baby wants you!!
You are a wonderful aunt to my kids, I know you will be a wonderful mother.
Can't wait to be an aunt/second mother!
Congratulations, Lauren! Cassidy will be so excited to hear about your pregnancy. Lizzie is doing well~ getting fluffier all the time! We will send a new picture soon. Cassidy loves her new school, but misses you deeply! It has been a good transition for both her and Cooper. Congrats, again,to you both!
Love, Meredith Kimbrough
Congratulations!! We are so excited for you. There is nothing like the journey you are about to begin. It is wonderful!! May God bless the three of you over the next several months.
That's wonderful! My wife and I just found out that we were having a little girl and it's so nice to have already picked out a name for her. We promised my grandmother just before she passed that we would name our first little girl after her and it brought tears to her eyes. Gramma Audrey would have been so proud! What are you going to name your little one, Lauren?
Congratulations!!!! My mom told me a few days ago (probably like 2 seconds after she heard from your mom), but I am so glad you posted it out in the open now. I love that you will be due right when I was with Seth -- it will be fun for me to know right when you find out the sex, start feeling HUGE, etc.! And you will know what your baby will be like in a year b/c that is how much older Seth is than baby Satterfield.
We really couldn't be more thrilled for you and Josh. What a lucky baby already to have such good Christian parents that love it so much. Now, you just have to plan a Dallas baby shopping trip so I can see you!
Thank you soooo much everyone!! I'm glad to have this out in the open now!
Aunt Jo Anna and Aunt Elizabeth,
Yes, this baby will be sooo spoiled in the aunt department, not to mention uncle, grandparent, cousin, etc.
Meredith,
So good to hear from you!! I'm so glad that Cassidy is liking her new school, and I'm sure her new teacher just loves her as well! I would love to see pictures of Lizzie...send them anytime!
Kristen,
Elizabeth and I have already talked about how I can always know exactly what the baby will be like at any given month by looking at Seth! I will definitely want to know when you started to feel huge, etc. I would love to come up and see you guys and BABY SHOP!! How exciting!!!
Oh, and to anonymous person...what a coincidence! We had a similar situation with a Grandma Audrey...it is one of our options! ;)
Can I please say CONGRATS! I am so HAPPY for ya'll. We need one more Satterfield... That poor baby wont know what hit him/her when we all get ahold of him/her. Love you!
Anonymous,
I'm a little confused...I thought your grandmothers' names were Mildred and Virginia. I think a little Mildred Virginia would be adorable! Congrats on your pending birth! You two seen like such a sweet couple!
P.S. If it's a boy, how about Francis Joseph? I know it would have brought tears to his eyes!
Congratulations! It was so fun being pregnant. I accidentally, on purpose, feel into a deeper love with fast food and gained 70 pounds with 2 of my 3 children!! But worth every pound! Have fun and I will keep you in my prayers. Have a great day.
Lauren,
I'm so excited that we get to be pregnant together! It seems like we have been through so much together since the 5th grade--what a blessing to be expecting together as well.
I find out on Wednesday if it's a boy or girl--have you heard of the Draino test? It was accurate with Clare and if it really works, I should be having a boy this time. If it is a boy, I will relinquish all rights to you the name "Elyse"...If you still like it!
Has anyone done the Draino test? It has been accurate 6 out of 6 times I've seen it used!!
Well, love you Lauren. You are going to make a fabulous mom!
I'm reminded of a quote from the greatest movie of all time, "Lonesome Dove." You'll find the quote at the end of the movie while Captain Woodrow Call was packing his wagon in preparation for travelling thousands of miles across the frontier to bury his friend, Augustus McCray, and fulfill a promise he had made to Gus on his death bed. News of this journey had spread all across the country, and a passer-by noted to Captain Call that, "People make all kinds of promises to the dying that they don't intend to keep." Captain Call was not amused. He replied simply, "Well I don't." He then yanked the reigns and pulled out. What an inspiring story!
For those utterly confused, this is Lauren's brother trying to guilt her into naming my prospective neice after her husband's recently deceased grandmother, who on all accounts was a remarkable woman (see her earlier post from the weekend of her passing). I also enjoy quoting "Lonesome Dove" whenever possible.
Wow, Michael, you really are laying it on thick! We are all trying to guilt her, but I think you are doing the best job!
I think renegging on a promise made to a dying woman should at least give you 7 years bad luck, don't you think?
Congrats Lauren!!! You are entering SUCH an exciting time... and pregnancy is a wonderful scape goat ~ you can do almost ANYTHING and get away with it simply b/c "it's the pregnancy!"
Yes, Captain Woodrow Call was a very noble man...you just don't find them like that anymore! It's a shame!
